Bonginkosi Madikizela suspended

Bonginkosi Madikizela has been suspended as Western Cape Transport MEC for 14 days, for lying about his qualifications.

It’s emerged Madikizela doesn’t have a BCom from Unisa, although this was publicly stated on his Western Cape government bio.

Madikizela’s admitted to this, claiming that he doesn’t feel having that qualification is necessary for political office.

Provincial premier Alan Winde says he met with Madikizela yesterday and says he believes in having a fair process.

Winde says he’ll make a decision on Madikizela’s future, once an investigation runs its course.
