Breakthrough in fight against pre-eclampsia
There's been a potentially life-saving breakthrough to combat a deadly pregnancy complication.
It's known as pre-eclampsia and claims the lives of about 500 000 unborn babies and up to 70 000 pregnant mothers each year.
Professor Cathy Cluver from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Stellenbosch University led the study along with Australian researchers.
She joined us to discuss the breakthrough research.
