Business still booming
The entire supply chain of the alcohol industry is still struggling to recover from the impact of four booze bans during various lockdowns.
Local suppliers and producers have been hardest hit and Apiwe Nxosani Mawela, South Africa’s first black female microbrewer is one of them.
She had to shut down her local operation because she simply couldn't afford her loan payments. But then she received an invitation through LinkedIn.
And now her business has moved offshore and she’s distributing her beer, Tolokazi, in the United Kingdom.
