COVID-19 deaths in W Cape average 90 a day

The coronavirus third wave peak is forecast to be just over a week away in the Western Cape.

The province is recording up to 90 deaths a day. Currently there are over 34 000 active COVID-19 cases and 10% of those infected require critical care in hospital. Field hospitals in Paarl and Mitchell’s Plain are being brought online to help ease the load of hospital admissions.
