DA hopes to stop local election postponement

The Democratic Alliance is heading to the apex court to challenge proposals to have this year's local government elections pushed out.

Local government polls are meant to be held on October 27th but the Independent Electoral Commission and some political parties

including the ANC want a postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, this is only a determination the Constitutional Court can make and the official opposition says granting this request will be a fatal mistake.
