DA reacts to election ruling

A victory for our constitution.

This is how DA spokesperson Siviwe Gwarube described Friday’s Constitutional Court ruling on the elections.

The court ruled that the 2021 local government elections must take place this year between 27 October and 1 November 2021.

The IEC approached the apex court to have the local government election postponed to next year.

Gwarube welcomed the decision and says she believes the court upheld the constitution.
