‘DBE’s decision irrational’

Lobby group Afriforum says the Basic Education department's move not to publish the matric results is illogical.

Afriforum, will now be challenging the decision in court this week.

The department says pupils' identity and exam numbers are visible and this infringes on their right to privacy under the POPI act.

Afriforum's Natasha Venter says the law is being misapplied.
