Dispelling myths about COVID-19
COVID-19 infections in South African townships is a real point of concern for government and ordinary people.
Many people in townships like Alexandra and Khayelitsha say they find it difficult to adhere to social distancing rules,
but there are also various myths going around about the virus.
One of the myths is that the virus doesn't impact the poor and only affects the rich.
A youth campaign has now been launched in a hope to dispel these myths,
by speaking directly to people about how the virus works.
One of the iniators of the campaign, Murendeni Nefale, joined us via Skype.
