DUT shuts all campuses after protests
The Durban University of Technology has closed all five of its campuses after a fake post went viral.
The post claimed the university was accepting walk-in registrations. Later thousands of people arrived on campus in an attempt to register.
Police were called in after students began damaging property and throwing stones at buildings.
Alan Khan, the senior director of corporate affairs at DUT says registrations and other programs will continue online as normal.
