Family wants full bodycam video
The widow of a South African man who was shot and killed by US police, wants the authorities to release the full body-cam footage,
to show what happened that fateful night last week. 29-year-old former KwaZulu-Natal rugby player and mechanical engineer,
Lindani Myeni, reportedly left his Hawaii home last Wednesday, to go for a drive and clear his head. According to Honolulu police,
officers were later called to a home in the area, after the owners reported an apparent “robbery in progress”.
When police arrived, it’s alleged Myeni attacked the officers, and they were apparently forced to open fire.
A family representative of the Myeni family, Junior Makhoba told etv news that Myeni
was not armed and that they have been left with a lot of questions.
A Go Fund Me account has been created, to raise funds for Myeni’s body to be repatriated to Esikhaleni, near Richards Bay.
