Firefighting heroes

As Cape Town and the University of Cape Town continue to count the cost of the devastating fires,

videos are emerging of the panic as the flames engulfed UCT. A video, released on the SMUTS Hall social media pages,

which is one of UCT’s residences and remains closed to students, shows the bravery of firefighters and students in the inferno.

The damage could have been much greater, but thankfully, there are still some brave people in the world.

One of these brave people who helped fight the fire, is former UCT student, Kalaba Chibale.

He joined us to shed some light, on what transpired. He says everything happened very quickly.
