Former Life Esidimeni MD in the hot seat

Former Life Esidimeni managing director, Dr Basuku Mkhatshwa, was back under cross examination today at the inquest into the Life Esidimeni scandal. He’s one of the key witnesses whose testimony will be pivotal, in uncovering what led to the death of the 144 mental health patients.

These patients died after they were transferred from Life Esidimeni, to ill-equipped NGOs in Gauteng.
