Gauteng's COVID-19 caseload worrying

Gauteng is showing a sharp spike in COVID-19 numbers, and is entering the third wave fast.

According to Professor Tulio D’Oliveria it’s home to one fifth of our population, but now also half of all our COVID cases.

Infectious disease specialist at Wits University, Professor Francois Venter,

says we urgently need to get more people vaccinated as soon as possible.

But he fears it is a little too late for the third wave, as the vaccine takes a couple of weeks to kick in.
