Illegal occupants evicted from RDP houses

Last week etv news brought you an exclusive story about residents in Daveyton, Gauteng, who have been waiting for over two decades for RDP houses.

The residents say they applied for state housing in 1996, but the RDP homes they were set to receive were illegally occupied by young people.

On Tuesday, the City of Ekurhuleni moved in to evict some of the illegal occupiers, as per a court order.
