Illicit ciggies have overtaken market
South Africans can legally buy cigarettes from Tuesday.
Despite the ban being lifted, Tobacco manufacturers are continuing their court bids to have the ban permanently overturned.
In May, cigarette manufacturer, British American Tobacco launched legal action, challenging government's ban on the sale of cigarettes.
The high court in Cape Town is expected to deliver judgement this week.
