Joburg suburb under constant flood threat

The homes of residents in Riverlea, Johannesburg are flooded every year during the rainy season.

That’s because the construction of a road during the Soccer World Cup in 2010, is causing a nearby river to flood their homes. 

The issue however is that locals do not want to accept the City’s solution to the problem.
