Lambda COVID variant flagged as variant of interest

The World Health Organization has flagged the COVID-19 Lambda variant as a variant of interest.

The variant was first discovered in Peru in December last year and has since spread to over 30 different countries.

It's said that the Lambda variant could be even more transmissible than the Delta variant.
