Liliesleaf Farm Museum in dire straits
Museums and heritage sites are struggling to keep their doors open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among them is the Liliesleaf Farm Museum in Rivonia, the headquarters of the South African Communist Party in the 1960s,
and the meeting spot for the then-banned ANC. The CEO, Nicholas Wolpe who joined us on Tuesday
says the museum is in serious financial trouble. He warns this may mean the country’s rich history is at risk too.
