Maimane slams talk of DA coalitions
The leader of the One South Africa Movement, Mmusi Maimane joined us on Monday to talk about his recent rants on Twitter
regarding a possible coalition between his former party and the ruling ANC.
DA leader John Steenhuisen was quoted in Sunday newspaper saying the party was willing to form a coalition
with the ANC after the 2024 general elections, as long as President Cyril Ramaphosa is leading.
Maimane’s responded by saying there is no good or bad ANC and that accepting a coalition with the governing party, is an acceptance of defeat.
The DA today issued a statement following the publication of the article. It says talks of a coalition with the ruling ANC
was never mentioned in the interview and that it’s a misrepresentation of the party’s position on the issue.
