Mango ‘mayday’

Financially troubled airline Mango has confirmed it’s filing for business rescue.

Mango staff are said to have been working for free for two months now and it’s not clear if the 700 employees will be paid anytime soon.

Mango’s reportedly waiting for a much-needed cash injection from the government. SAA says consultations with unions are under way.

We spoke to Numsa’s national spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola and Zazi Nsibanyoni-Anyiam from the South African Cabin Crew Association to find out more about what this means for Mango Airlines staff.
