Netcare closes third emergency unit in KZN

A third Netcare hospital has closed its emergency department to new walk-in patients.

Netcare says it isn't linked to the COVID-19 virus, but a healthcare union disputes this.

Early this month, two other Netcare hospitals were closed in Durban,

following a COVID-19 outbreak in the hospital.

More than 75 staff members and patients tested positive for the virus.

Nabeelah Shaikh spoke to unions in the healthcare sector and filed this report.
