Pharma profits over human rights?

There’ll be no end in sight to the COVID-19 pandemic unless global pharmaceutical giants boost vaccine supply to poorer countries.

That’s the warning by Amnesty International, who has accused these companies of fuelling a human rights crisis.

Amnesty International's latest report has revealed that AstraZeneca, BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Novavax and Pfizer, are refusing to waive intellectual property rights.

Amnesty International SA's Executive Director, Shenilla Mohamed says these companies are failing to meet their human rights responsibilities.
