Race against time to develop COVID-19 treatment
Countries around the world are in a race against time to develop effective treatments for COVID-19.
America's Food and Drug Administration recently approved the emergency use
of an antiviral drug, Remidisivir, to treat the most severe cases of COVID-19.
South Africa is also one of 10 countries involved in a World Health Organization
global trial to find an effective treatment for the virus.
Eight South African health sciences faculties are involved.
