Recalling memories of John Vorster Square

Mmagauta Molefe is the creator of the documentary Surviving John Vorster Square.

The documentary tells the stories of nine women who were held and tortured at the notorious John Vorster Square headquarters by apartheid police in the 1970s and 80s. The film will be shown publicly for the first time on Monday at Constitution Hill.

Molefe is regarded as a stalwart of the Black Consciousness Movement.

She joined us to tell us why it so important to these stories
