Remembering MK operative Anton Fransch

Today marks 31 years since the Battle of Athlone in which Umkhonto we Sizwe operative,

Anton Fransch was killed in an epic gun battle.

Fransch fought against apartheid’s security police for nearly eight hours,

defending himself with hand-grenades and a machine gun.

He was 20-years-old at the time of his death.
