Renowned HIV prevention scientist dies
Tributes continue to pour in for world-renowned HIV prevention scientist, Professor Gita Ramjee.
She stood on the frontline of fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic,
but sadly lost her life to the COVID-19 virus.
Ramjee was the Chief Scientific Officer at the Aurum Institute.
The organisation is an international authority on HIV and TB eradication.
She also worked with the South African Medical Research Council, for 23 years.
Ramjee has now become one of the faces of the pandemic in South Africa.
