Retirement village residents fear the worst
The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to take its toll on the country’s most vulnerable.
Some 500 elderly people face an uncertain future after an NPO announced that three of its retirement villages in Cape Town will be closing its doors.
The Cape Peninsula Organisation for the Aged (CPOA) announced in December that Nerina Place in Bishop Lavis, Lilyhaven Place in Bonteheuwel, and Oakhaven Place in Heideveld will be closing due to costs incurred since the pandemic hit.
