SABC workers march to the Union Buildings

Media workers' union, Bemawu, says the SABC did not follow the correct procedure with regard to its retrenchment plans.

In response on Wednesday, hundreds of SABC employees took to the streets and handed over a memorandum of demands

at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Earlier the public broadcaster announced it will be retrenching 303 staff members.

Bemawu's Hanness Du Buisson believes the public broadcaster could have considered alternative options.
