SAHPRA evaluating Sputnik vaccine

The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority has confirmed that it has begun evaluating Russia's Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine.

Over 30 countries around the world have already approved the vaccine for use and now Sahpra will be going through the data to check the safety,

quality and efficacy of the vaccine. Professor Helen Rees, executive director at Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute 

and chair of the South African Health Products regulatory authority joined us for an in-depth discussion on the matter.

She says a few questions still need to be answered before the vaccine is approved for use in South Africa.
