Sanef outraged by attacks on journalists in Nkandla
The South African National Editors’ Forum is outraged by the attacks on journalists who were outside former president Jacob Zuma’s home in Nkandla this past weekend.
It says its deeply worried about the brazen physical and verbal abuse of journalists by supporters of Zuma. Supporters arrived in the area in their numbers over the weekend as the deadline for Zuma to hand himself over to police drew closer.
Adriaan Basson the deputy chairperson of the South African National Editors' Forum says journalists are the eyes and ears of the public and don’t expect to be attacked while doing their work.
