Suspects accused of defrauding UIF fund out on bail

Five people accused of defrauding the Unemployment Insurance Fund are out on R5 000 bail each.

The suspects briefly appeared in the Commercial Crimes Court today, following their arrest on Monday morning. 

The suspects are accused of being part of an operation that defrauded the fund of R5.7 million, money which was meant for workers as relief during the lockdown.
