Taps at Eastern Cape schools run dry
No water, no schooling.
This is the shameful reality pupils in Kariega in the Eastern Cape are facing.
Severe water shortages in Nelson Mandela Bay forced schools to send pupils home. The water shortage follows low rainfall and the metro's failure to fix leaks in the system. But how many of these problems could have been foreseen by local government?
Vuyiseka Mboxela, spokesperson of Eastern Cape Education Department says at this stage a great part of schools in the Nelson Mandela Metro have been affected.
