Teenage pregnancy numbers a big worry
Teenage pregnancy in South Africa remains a big worry.
According to the Health Department in Gauteng alone, roughly 23 000 girls aged between 10 and 19 got pregnant in the last financial year.
Another worrying figure is that about 1 300 girls between the ages of 10 to 19 test positive for HIV weekly.
The CEO of Soul City Institute for Justice Phinah Kodisang says while these worrying figures were recorded during the hard lockdown it remains a systematic problem in South Africa.
