Teens encouraged to vaccinate

With warnings about the fourth wave hitting as soon as next month the race to ramp up vaccinations has become even more urgent.

Teenagers who make up 10 percent of South Africa’s population will be able to get their jab from Wednesday.

At this stage only teens between 12 and 17-years-old, are being offered one dose of the Pfizer vaccine. A second dose will in all likelihood be added later.

Dr Sheri Fanaroff a member of the Gauteng General Practitioners Collaboration has been using her platform to help answer some of the questions parents and children may have.

She says her own teens will be at the front of the queue.
