Time for an alcohol ban ?

Social gatherings and excessive alcohol use remains a problem amid a COVID-19 third wave which is hitting our country hard.

This has led to many questioning whether another alcohol ban will ease the pressure on our health workers.

But Charles Parry is of the opinion that we should have had a look at these kind of interventions a lot sooner.

He is the director of the South African Medical Research Council's, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Research Unit

and says we should look at other options first before a total ban on alcohol.
