Well-known Cape Town advocate laid to rest

Tributes continue to pour in for Advocate Hishaam Mohamed who died on Monday from a heart attack.
He was 55-years old and was buried in Cape Town today.

Mourners have described him as a gentle, compassionate and kind soul.

Before being elected as the ANC's whip in Parliament’s Justice Portfolio Committee,

the human rights champion served as the head of the Western Cape Justice Department for 23 years.

One of his friend's Faiez Jacobs and ANC MP for Athlone says Mohamed was always pushing for the justice system, to do more especially for women, the poor and marginalized.
