In December 2001, Time Magazine ran its now famous magazine cover – The Last Days of the Taliban.

It marked the US invasion of Afghanistan. Twenty years later, with more than 200 000 lives lost, the US War on Terror has ended and the Taliban have retaken Afghanistan.

Prominent British journalist and author, Dr Yvonne Ridley, joined us from the UK to answer some of these questions. Dr Ridley was captured by the Taliban in 2001, and wrote a memoir of her experience. It’s titled "In the Hands of the Taliban".
