What You Need To Know: Phase two vaccination registration opens
People over 60 can now finally register to get their COVID-19 vaccine.
Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize outlined the details of the registration process this morning when he launched the
COVID-19 Electronic Vaccination Data System. Almost 17 million people will be vaccinated in phase two.
The list includes essential workers, people living in confined institutions, such as old-age homes and prisons and anyone over 18
who has co-morbidities. Registration is being done in age categories. The site will go live from 4pm today.
To register you will need the following:
- Internet access
- Smart phone/computer
- Go to http://vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za
- Welcome steps will guide you
- Fill in all your details
- When it’s your turn to be vaccinated, you’ll get an SMS when and where you’ll be vaccinated.
People who don’t have access to the internet, or a smart device will not be excluded from registering.
Mkhize says there is an option to physically go to vaccination sites where they will be assisted with registration.
He says registration doesn’t guarantee immediate vaccination and data from the EVD'S system
will help them allocate the required number of vaccines to the thousands of vaccination points.
You won't be required to pay any fee, co-payments or levy upon registration or vaccination.
Your medical aid/government will cover this.
