Working the land to eradicate poverty

The majority of people living in rural areas are unemployed and depend heavily on a government social grant.

To address this a Mthatha-based NGO is encouraging villagers to use the land they have to generate an income.

The Master Rural Development Organisation is also training residents to help them get a farming business started.
