Zuma back in court

Former President Jacob Zuma returns to the Pietermaritzburg High Court tomorrow for his ongoing corruption trial.

Zuma and French arms company, Thales are expected to plead to corruption, money laundering,

and racketeering charges against them. As part of that plea, Zuma’s challenging the right of lead prosecutor, Billy Downer, to try him.

Zuma argues Downer should be removed, and he should be acquitted. He also claims there’s been alleged foreign intelligence interference in the case.

Legal analyst Elton Hart says there is a 50/50 chance that things will go in Zuma’s favour.
