Cape Town plans smoke free city
The City of Cape Town wants to limit the spaces, where smokers can get their nicotine fix.
It wants the city to become smoke-free. The planned policies and by-laws would leapfrog,
the National Tobacco Bill that’s due to be enacted soon. That bill bans outdoor smoking in all public places countrywide.
Zahid Badroodien, Cape Town’s mayoral committee member for community services and health,
joined us via Skype to tell us more about the planned policies.
