Western Cape Judge President under investigation

Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe, has been implicated in a plot to assassinate his deputy, Patricia Goliath. 

A preliminary investigation into the allegations by the Judicial Inspectorate of Correctional Services, found the allegations warrant further investigation.

For more on this story, we spoke to Judge Johann Kriegler, a retired justice of the Constitutional Court. He is also the Chair of Freedom Under Law and has written extensively about allegations of misconduct, which have been levelled against Judge Hlophe, for over a decade.
