Call to suspend patent laws gains traction

When it comes to a global pandemic and potentially life-saving medicine,

the global response has been the survival of the richest.

South Africa and India are fighting to change this,

and are taking on big pharmaceutical companies and developed countries.

The two countries are calling for a suspension of international patent laws,

on any potential vaccines or treatment for COVID-19.
