Artists in Johannesburg still not paid COVID-19 relief grants

Police officers were called out to the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture in Johannesburg today.

Disgruntled artists claim they have not been paid their COVID-19 grants,

and showed up at the department’s offices demanding their money.

Our reporter, Graeme Raubenheimer, was at the offices,

and caught up with one of the artists who says they are going hungry.

The department acknowledges there's been delays, and says the money will be paid over the next few days.
