Chaos at SABC over looming job cuts

The SABC is pushing ahead with planned retrenchments, despite protests from staff and five board members being against the process.

SABC management began issuing retrenchment notices to several staff members yesterday.

Earlier this month the public broadcaster announced that around 400 jobs would be cut.

Those notices have now been put on hold after SABC news staffers took their protests on air and pleaded with management to reconsider.
