Lawyer calls for Chin'ono's release, citing health concerns
Lawyers for Zimbabwean journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono say they are concerned about this health.
He’s been jailed again after his second arrest on the 3rd of November.
They say Chin’ono has been moved to a cell that is meant to house 16 inmates only.
But there are 46 inmates in the cell with him and there have been reports of an outbreak of bronchitis,
hepatitis B and TB at the notorious Chikarubi maximum security prison where he is being held.
Amnesty International and several other international organisations,
are calling for Chin’ono’s immediate release, calling it a violation of his human rights.
We spoke to Doug Coltart, one of Chin’ono’s lawyers.
