Matric exam rewrite set aside
A huge victory for good, hard working pupils, who don’t want to pay the price, for the wrong deeds of others.
That’s the word from Willie Spies, a lawyer for AfriForum.
He represented matric pupils in court, challenging a decision by the Basic Education Department.
The court ruled that the department's decision that Grade 12 pupils should rewrite two exams papers,
that were leaked was both irregular and unlawful and should be set aside.
