Western Cape ready for vaccine arrival
The Western Cape government estimates that it will cost R1.7 billion for the overall vaccine rollout in the province.
Almost 2 000 healthcare workers are being trained to carry out the vaccinations.
The first batch of vaccines for healthcare workers will arrive in the province in the next two weeks,
and close to 400 facilities will be used to conduct the vaccinations. The Western Cape Health Department’s head,
Dr. Keith Cloete joined us via Skype and says every healthcare worker will be monitored and observed intensively after receiving the vaccine.
