UCT to begin COVID-19 vaccine trial

A potentially groundbreaking clinical trial of a vaccine that could be effective against mutations of the COVID 19 virus,

is happening right here in South Africa. Researchers at the University of Cape Town will start phase 1 clinical trials soon.

Professor Graeme Meintjes, from UCT’s Department of Medicine, says it could be an important addition to the existing vaccines.
