[EXPLAINED] Tech giants to pay for news content

The Australian government on Thursday passed a new law that will force tech companies to pay publishers for news content.

Jan Vermeulen, Editor-at-Large at My Broadband and founder of Relative Entropy, joined us to discuss this new legislation in more depth.

Vermeulen says South Africa, with smaller news companies, is not likely to benefit, should similar laws be passed in the country.
